Adapting to the “new normal”

Adapting to the “new normal”

As lockdown continues, we’re all coming to terms with what the “new normal” might involve in our personal and professional lives.  Firstly, everyone at Skillfluence extends their best wishes to you and your family and hope that you all remain in good health.  Secondly, we would like to say a massive thank you to all frontline workers who continue to deliver health care and essential services during these difficult times. Your efforts are vital in our fight against this virus and we appreciate all that you do for us.

Going online

The Skillfluence team started to work remotely before the government guidance came into force and since then we’ve been working hard to support our customers to review and change existing and upcoming training plans.

We already offered online and blended training programmes as part of our portfolio, but the “new normal” has increased customer interest and acceptance (or at least trial), of what is possible now and in the future.  We have now converted a range of the training programmes you know and love to online blended versions and we’re particularly excited about our “Online Shorts”, which see our one-day, face-to-face programmes delivered in a four-stage process:

  • Pre-course introduction through our online training site, undertaken at a time that suits an individual participant.
  • Live session 1 – a 60-90 minute live, interactive delivery from your designated Trainer.
  • Application task – a piece of “homework” to consolidate learning and prepare for the next session.
  • Live session 2 – the final 60-90 minute live, interactive delivery to close the programme.

We can still tailor the content to suit the needs of your participants and the delivery schedule is typically a week apart or morning and afternoon.

If you’re interested in one of our more in-depth training experiences, our longer programmes now typically run in a 6-week block, for example, Connecting with Industry or Future Innovators.

Contact us by email ( or through the website to talk to us about how we can help you to continue to deliver quality training to researchers and academics at your Institution.

Take care and stay safe by staying at home.
